Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun declare Tuesday public holiday for Isese
Four state governments in the South-West have declared today (Tuesday) a public holiday to mark this year’s Isese Day celebration.
Isese Day is celebrated in Yorubaland by traditional worshippers.
The states are Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and Osun.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and their Oyo State counterpart Seyi Makinde on Monday announced Tuesday August 20, 2024 as a work-free day for public servants.
The Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, in a circular, said Governor Sanwo-Olu approved holiday.
He directed public servants to resume work on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
In Ogun, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, in a statement, said the work-free day would allow traditional worshippers across the state to commemorate the special day.
Oyo and Osun also approved Tuesday as public holiday for the celebration.
