Lagos State Government has commenced the trial run of the recently completed and inaugurated 13km Lagos Blue Line rail service.
The test run, to last for two months, will see some Nigerians such as top government functionaries, academia, journalists, university students and heads of agencies under the Ministry of Transportation ride on the train from the Marina Train Station to Mile 2.
Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transportation Authority, Mrs Abimbola Akinajo, said the programme would be carried out twice weekly over the next two months, and open for Lagosians from all walks of life to board the train and have a feel of its comfort.
Already, she said market men and women, artisans, students, members of the media and other professionals are being invited to participate.
LAMATA, she added, would soon begin to ask any Nigerians wishing to ride on the train to send in their email address and they in turn would be communicated when to board the train.
