The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned motorists and pedestrians to be cautious around the bridge in the Ijesha area along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway of the state.
A truck is currently stuck under the bridge, with part of the pedestrian bridge located along the expressway now broken.
According to a video shared by LASTMA, a blue truck appears to have flipped, with its dump box trapped under the bridge while its wheels dangle midair.
It is, however, not clear when exactly the truck got stuck under the bridge.
Reacting via its official Twitter handle, LASTMA said the “structural integrity” of the bridge had been compromised “greatly”, and warned pedestrians to avoid using it.
The agency also advised motorists plying the route to drive with utmost care.
“Be advised, this truck was reported to have been stuck at Ijesha bridge inward Oshodi. Drive with care on this route,” the tweet reads.
“Be advised, the structural integrity of the pedestrian bridge at Ijesha inward Oshodi has been compromised greatly, therefore it is in the interest of pedestrians to avoid it as much as possible.
“Motorists plying this route, or with the intention of plying this route need to do so with maximum caution.”
