LASTMA impounds 27 Danfo, Private Cars Over Traffic Offences
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has impounded 27 vehicles, including Danfo buses and private cars, over various traffic violations across major roads in Lagos.
According to the agency, the vehicles were seized during routine enforcement operations carried out to ensure free traffic flow, improve road safety, and enforce compliance with Lagos traffic laws. The affected vehicles were found to be committing offences such as illegal parking, obstruction of traffic, wrong-way driving, and violation of traffic signals.

LASTMA officials said the operation was part of sustained efforts by the Lagos State Government to curb reckless driving and reduce the persistent gridlock often caused by commercial bus drivers and some private motorists who disregard traffic rules.
The agency warned that enforcement would continue across the state, stressing that no category of road user would be spared. It urged motorists, especially commercial drivers, to obey traffic regulations and cooperate with traffic officers to avoid penalties, fines, or vehicle impoundment.
LASTMA also appealed to residents to remain patient during enforcement exercises, noting that the ultimate goal is to promote orderly traffic movement, protect lives, and reduce accidents on Lagos roads.
