Lawmaker’s daughter strangled to death in Maiduguri
Bukar Abacha’s daughter, a lawmaker representing Ngala seat in the Borno house of assembly, was slain at her home in Maiduguri’s Gidan Dembe district.
On Wednesday, Kamilu Sani, the state police spokesperson, verified the event to TheCable.
“We actually received a report on the killing, but whether it was gunmen that committed the culpable homicide or not is yet to be ascertained please,” he said.
“The report we received was that the incident occurred at about 0700hrs.
“The police have already commence a discreet investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing as well as arrest and bring the perpetrators to book.”

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication in the Lake Chad region, said the lawmaker’s daughter was “strangled” to death by the perpetrators.
The publication said the husband of the victim took her corpse to the police station, adding that her body was found at her house with her legs and hands tied behind her back.
The publication said the two-year-old daughter of the victim was found crying beside her body.
Makama added that the Gwange police division evacuated the corpse to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for an autopsy and investigation.
