Seventy-two hours after rescue operation commenced at the site of an Ikoyi high-rise building in Lagos, the body of its owner, Femi Osibona, has been recovered from the rubble.
A combined team of emergency responders recovered the body Thursday evening, an official of the National Emergency Management Agency confirmed.
This came just owner of a vehicle parked close to the collapsed building has been identified as one of the victims, who was a visitor to the building on Monday morning before the collapse.
The high-rise building was owned and constructed by the late Osibona’s company Fourscore Heights Limited.
The vehicle belonging to one of the trapped victims was removed from the scene on Thursday evening by rescue team.
The details of the vehicle that was removed from the scene is YAB655AZ, Toyota Highlander.
The owner was said to be the owner of an aluminium fabrication company.
Osibona, it was learnt, developed not just the collapsed 360 Degrees Towers on 44 BCD Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, but two other high-rise buildings still standing tall.
His company began its foray into real estate in the United Kingdom before branching out to South Africa and later Nigeria.
In 2009, Fourscore Homes built six luxury units called Fourscore Mansions in Waterkloof, a very expensive neighbourhood in Pretoria, South Africa.
Osibona was also the first African developer to develop a seven-storey building in the United Kingdom. The property called Fourscore Mansion is located at 113, Albion Drive London Fields, E8, 4LZ, East London.
