Lightning strikes three family members to death in Benue
A bout of lightning has killed three persons in Benue State.
The incident happened on Thursday in Agasha, Guma Local Government Area of the state, during a rainfall.
The victims were said to be returning from their farm at about 4pm when they were struck down by the lightning.
The victims include two girls and a six-year-old boy.
“The two girls and the about six-year-old boy were on the farm to harvest produce for the family when the heavy rain started, Wednesday, around 4pm.

“They decided to return home. It was while on their way that they were struck by the lightning near their house.
“People ran for safety when the lightning struck but it was later discovered that three of them were affected. They died on the spot. Their bodies have been recovered by the family members,” an eyewitness told reporters in the area on Friday.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, has not reacted to the incident.
