Super Eagles lead 1-0 as the Group D of the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations kicked off with a fierce battle between Nigeria and Egypt on Tuesday in Garoua.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s goal put Nigeria ahead in the 30th minute of the game with a shot into the top-left corner of the goalpost.

Super Eagles dominated the first half of the game, silencing Egypt’s main man, Mohamed Salah.

In the 25th minute, Moses Simon missed an opportunity, hitting the side net.
Awoniyi narrowly scored the Super Eagles’ second goal in the 37th and 41st minutes but was stopped by Egypt’s goalkeeper, El Shenawy.
