LP chairman killed by suspected armed herdsmen in Benue
Suspected armed herdsmen have reportedly killed a Labour Party chairman in Benue State, Mr. Sunday Oche.
The incident occurred in Igumale Ward 1 of Ado Local Government Area (LGA).
Mr. Oche was said to be returning from his farm in the company with five others when they were ambushed by the attackers.
This led to the fatal shooting of the Labour Party leader.
The five others with him managed to escape, albeit with serious injuries.
The Benue State Labour Party Publicity Secretary, Tersoo Orbunde, confirmed the tragic development, stating that Mr. Oche’s body had been recovered and was awaiting burial.
He said, “He is a a ward cirman from Igumale, Sunday Oche. He went to his cassava farm and he was attacked and killed. They have brought the corpse back.
“Our people have gone there to console the family and we are waiting for them on the arrangement for his burial to see how we can come in. The matter has also been reported to the police for necessary action.”
