Man, 76, rapes teenage girl in Ibadan
One Akeem Muritala has allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl in Oyo State.
The 76-year-old man was arraigned before a Family Court sitting in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Tuesday.
After hearing the prosecution speak, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olabisi Ogunkanmi, ordered that the suspect be remanded in a correction centre.
The magistrate ordered that the case file be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

Ogunkanmi adjourned the case until October 23 for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Gbemisola Adedeji, told the court that Muritala committed the offence in July in the Isale-Afa area of Ibadan and that the defendant narrated the abuse to the police.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 34 of the Child Rights Law 2006.
