Man climbs high-voltage power pole demanding Tinubu’s resignation

A man demanding President Bola Tinubu’s resignation by climbing a 33KV high-voltage electrical pole has been rescued and taken into custody by the Adamawa State Police Command.

The incident reportedly occurred in Mayo-Belwa local government of the state between Friday, and Saturday, in the evening.

According to reports, the man mounted the 33KV high-tension pole near the Yola-Jalingo expressway on Friday morning, the day of the Mayo Belwa market, and demanded that Tinubu quit his office as president.

The state Police Command had gathered some locals who successfully persuaded him to come down from the pole on Saturday.

He continued by saying that it is the responsibility of the police to safeguard people’s lives and property and that anyone attempting to harm themselves must be brought before the law.

“The Command is going to parade the man today (Monday) for attempting suicide,” Nguroje said, adding that attempting suicide is a criminal offence under Nigeria’s constitution.

“We are going to charge him to court,” Nguroje said.
