Man gets life jail for raping Bayelsa varsity student
A Bayelsa State high court sitting in Yenagoa has sentenced one Daniel Amaso to life imprisonment for raping a 17-year-old pre-degree student of the state-owned Niger Delta University in Amassoma.
The convict was arraigned for forcefully entering the 17-year-old apartment in Amassoma community, Southern Ijaw LGA, with a knife. He was said to have raped her under duress and robbed her of her phone afterwards.

Amaso was charged with rape, armed robbery and causing grievous harm before Hon. Justice Christine Kombo-Enegesi.
He was consequently found guilty on the three counts on Monday and sentenced to life imprisonment for the offences of rape and armed robbery and 7 years for the offence of inflicting grievous harm.
