Man on the run after abusing his children in Lagos

A man identified as Kadiri Yusuf is currently on the run after he allegedly assaulted his two children in the Agege area of the state.

The spokesman for the state police command, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to journalists on Saturday in Lagos.

He said the suspect assaulted the children aged 11 and 13 years at 5:00 p.m., on Friday.

Hundeyin said a concerned member of the public lodged a complaint at the police station.

The spokesman said: “The headteacher of a primary school in Orile Agege reported at Elere Division that one of her pupils, a female, 11, reported to her that her father beat her and her elder brother, 13, causing them bodily injury.”

He said the victims have been retrieved, treated, and handed over to their mother’s sister for safe custody.

Hundeyin added efforts to arrest the fleeing father are ongoing.
