Man United sign midfielder Manuel Ugarte from PSG
Manchester United has reached a full agreement with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the signing of Uruguay international midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
The deal, valued at £50.7 million (€60 million), includes performance-related add-ons and is set to strengthen United’s midfield ahead of the new season.
Under the terms of the agreement, Manchester United will pay an initial £42.2 million (€50 million) up front, with an additional £8.5 million (€10 million) in potential add-ons based on Ugarte’s performance.
The 23-year-old midfielder is expected to arrive in the UK today to undergo a medical and finalize personal terms with the club.
PSG initially sought to recoup the full €60 million they paid Sporting Lisbon for Ugarte last summer, excluding bonuses.

However, both clubs have reached a compromise, motivated by a mutual desire to get the deal over the line.
Sky Sports News first reported Manchester United’s interest in Ugarte on June 25, and the club has been working steadily to secure the player throughout the transfer window.
Ugarte was identified as United’s primary midfield target, and the club is reportedly satisfied with the agreed price, especially considering PSG’s initial demands of £50.7 million (€60 million) plus add-ons.
Manchester United’s patience in negotiations paid off, as they were aware of both PSG’s willingness to negotiate and Ugarte’s eagerness to join the Premier League side.
Once Ugarte’s signing is confirmed, Manchester United will have addressed their key priority positions for the summer transfer window, having already bolstered their squad with new additions in midfield, center-back, right-back, and forward positions.
