However, Fulham refused to bow out. Emile Smith Rowe pulled one back in stoppage time of the first half (45+2’), giving the home crowd renewed hope. The second half saw Fulham intensify their assault, with Alex Iwobi scoring in the 57th minute. Samuel Chukwueze, coming off the bench, produced a stunning brace at 72’ and 78’, bringing Fulham within one goal of completing a historic turnaround.

Despite Fulham’s relentless pressure late in the game, City’s defence held firm to claim three crucial points, keeping them firmly in the Premier League title race.
