Manchester United join race to sign Osimhen

Premier League giant Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen during the forthcoming summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are anticipated to make a bid, anticipating a cash infusion from Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of a 25% minority stake in the club.

The Premier League has approved the transaction, and it is expected to be completed by next week.

Ratcliffe’s INEOS funds are anticipated to address Manchester United’s Financial Fair Play concerns, allowing them to strengthen their team this summer.

Manager Erik ten Hag is thought to have selected Osimhen as a top-priority signing to relieve pressure on rookie attacker Rasmus Hojlund.

Although Chelsea had been regarded as the favourite to sign Osimhen, Manchester United’s newfound interest, along with Ratcliffe’s riches and the possibility of Champions League qualification, might put them in prime position to sign the 25-year-old Nigerian forward.

Osimhen, currently with Napoli, is poised to leave the club in the summer, with several big clubs vying for his services.

Despite scoring one goal in the recently concluded AFCON tournament, Osimhen’s work ethic has drawn the attention of prominent European teams.
