May Edochie breaks silence, says ‘I stand for marriage’
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie’s estranged wife, May Edochie, has addressed misconceptions surrounding her personal life, emphasizing her commitment to marriage and family.
In an interview with comedian Ayo Makun, May, who suffered the tragic loss of her first son last year, clarified that she does not advocate for divorce or separation, despite her own marital challenges.
May disclosed that some men wrongly believe she is influencing their wives to consider separation, but she affirmed her deep-rooted belief in the institution of marriage.

“I love family, I love marriage, and I see it as the basis for family,” she explained.
“Without family, there would be no you or me. I am not in any way advocating divorce or separation; let me categorically state here that I am not an advocate of divorce.”
Furthermore, May opened up about her approach to personal issues, noting her preference for handling matters privately rather than on social media.
She attributes her resilience to a robust support network, which includes her family, friends, and a loyal online community.
“Having a positive mindset is key for me. I embrace authenticity, I do not take my personal issues to social media,” she shared. “My family and friends are always there for me, and my online family members act as a pillar, ready to stand by me.”

She revealed the emotional toll that false news online had taken on her mental health, describing how she once nearly poisoned herself in response to a hurtful rumour.
“I almost poisoned myself because there was news about me online that was far from true,” Ajao said. “It was the first time in my life that I faced something so painful. I didn’t eat for seven straight days. People around me can testify – I didn’t go anywhere.”

At the time, she was in the midst of planning her next film, a process that became increasingly difficult due to her emotional state. “My sisters were calling, telling me, ‘You have to do this for yourself. You don’t have to poison yourself.’ My son was reaching out to everyone, saying I was struggling with this lie online,” she shared.
The actress added, “I don’t even want to remember those things, honestly”, she recounted on the show.

“She’s gone through the fire, and I am just getting out of it. It’s like a reinvention. I am coming out stronger in terms of love, heartbreak, just where I am in life.”
Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “I’m at a stage where I am starting to accept certain things, set boundaries, and just be happy with what I have achieved. This is the rebirth of Tiwa Savage.”
Looking to the future, Tiwa expressed her ambitions beyond music. “I still have much more to do. I want to do movies, start a skincare line, expand my NGO work, and maybe even open a music school,” she shared, underscoring her desire to make an even greater impact in the years to come.
As a role model, Tiwa acknowledged the responsibility that comes with her public image. “It’s something I had to embrace,” she admitted.
“As much as I’m seen as a role model, I still have to be true to myself. When I make mistakes, I address them, because I’m human—that’s part of being a role model.”

Actress Ronke Odusanya has spoken out about her tumultuous marriage to Saheed Olarenwaju aka Jago and the eventual collapse.
In an interview with colleague Bimpe Akintunde, Ronke revealed that a friend’s malicious lies led to the breakdown of the union.
According to her, the friend allegedly told Saheed she was promiscuous and left their home to sleep with a senator with their daughter.
Ronke recounted her struggles after leaving the marriage, including having only N10,000 in her account and needing to move in with her brother.
She shared that Saheed later realised his mistake in listening to the false accusations.
She said: “When it happened that time and degenerated, my partner later realized that he shouldn’t have listened to the things he heard back then.

“A friend of mine told him that I wanted to leave him and go into prostitution. That when I left that night, I went to sleep in a Senator’s house with Fife. When he told me, my mouth was left open. Then I sent him a picture; God gave me grace; I didn’t know how I did it. I did a recording of the time and the date, were on my phone for the video.
“I recorded it when we got to where we would sleep. When we left, I didn’t have up to N10,000 in my account, but I decided this was it. I had nothing; all my jewelry was taken away, and I fainted with that. I was wondering where to start from. I cried so much that day because I didn’t have money to get an accommodation”.
The couple was embroiled in a paternity dispute over their daughter with Saheed requesting a DNA test in 2021.
