Medical Doctors in the employment of the Lagos State government under the aegis of Medical Guild have appealed to Nigerians to be vaccinated ahead of the festive season to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
The Lagos State branch chairman, Dr Oluwajimi Sodipo, said this during the association’s 2021 Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference in Lagos Thursday.

The conference, themed, ‘Tackling the challenges of human resources for health in Lagos State,’ started on Sunday and would end today.
“Various studies had shown that vaccines were effective against various variants of COVID-19, including Omicron. People should not hesitate to get vaccinated so there will be more people vaccinated,” Sodipo said.
Statistics from the World Health Organisation (WHO) showed that only 10,917,191 vaccine doses had been administered in Nigeria.
