Messi equals Ronaldo’s record after victory against Bolivia
Argentina captain Lionel Messi has matched his long-time rival Cristiano Ronaldo’s record for international hat-tricks after scoring three goals in a dominant 6-0 victory over Bolivia in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
The 37-year-old Messi, who also provided two assists during the match, achieved his 10th international hat-trick, bringing him level with Ronaldo’s record.
Argentina, known as La Albiceleste, are in a strong position to qualify for the World Cup, sitting three points ahead of second-placed Colombia and six points above their rivals Brazil.
