Military responsible for oil theft, says Dokubo after visiting Tinubu
A former Niger Delta agitator, Asari Dokubo, has accused the military of being responsible for 99 per cent of oil theft in the country.
He also said some top military officers were working with a cabal to steal the nation’s oil.
Dokubo stated this after a paying a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa Abuja on Friday.
He said the President had promised to investigate the allegations of huge illegal oil bunkering by notorious naval commanders.
Dokubo said there were powerful oil cabals operating from Abuja, vowing that these powerful forces had now met their match and many people would soon be marching to Kuje prison.
He volunteered to use his boys to halt the evil act.
According to the former militant leader, ordinary Niger Delta citizens who are often blamed for oil theft are not responsible as they do not have the wherewithal to perform such sophisticated act of stealing.
He said the oil thieves had stripped the people of the Niger Delta of their livelihood, describing it as a crime against humanity.
Dokubo also said it was an act of blackmail for the military to say that they had insufficient arms to deal with insecurity.
He accused them of forfeiting their weapons to the insurgents, claiming that they continued to fuel the insurgency.
