LABOUR UNION
The organised labour on Tuesday rejected a fresh proposal of N60,000 as a new minimum offered by the Federal Government.
Angry about the proposal, labour leaders had to stage a walkout during the Tripartite Committee meeting on Minimum Wage held in Abuja.
The labour unions made up of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress had earlier turned down N48,000 and N54,000 initially proposed by the government.
On Tuesday labour leaders however shifted their position from the previous stance of ₦497,000 to ₦494,000.
The labour unions have given a deadline of May 31 for the government to conclude the negotiations on the new minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
