Missing UNN Level-one student found dead on campus
The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) community in Enugu State is in mourning following the discovery of a deceased student.
Favour Okenyi, a 100-level medical laboratory science student, was found dead after being reported missing.
Favour disappeared on Tuesday after her chemistry practical, and her body was tragically discovered behind the Eni-Njoku male hostel on Friday evening.
A video circulating online shows her body, raising concerns among students who filmed the scene and questioned the gender of the deceased.

University spokesperson Okwun Omeaku confirmed the incident, expressing the administration’s shock and sadness. The university is working closely with security agencies and Favour’s family to uncover the circumstances surrounding her death.
Omeaku emphasized the institution’s commitment to preventing such tragedies in the future and urged anyone with useful information to come forward.
“The university administration is deeply saddened by the loss of our student and extends heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased for the tragic death of such a promising young student. We implore anyone in possession of useful information that could aid in the investigation to kindly reach out to the university administration,” he stated.
