The Chief Imam of Sokunkpan village in Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdullahi Audu, has been lynched by a mob over allegations that he was responsible for the death of a 25-year-old villager, Ibrahim Gana.
The Kwara State Police Command, which confirmed the incident on Thursday, said four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing.
According to police findings, the deceased, Ibrahim Gana, had been ill and was receiving treatment in a hospital before he died. His brothers, Mohammed Shaba and Mahmud Gana, however, accused the Chief Imam of causing his death through spiritual means.
