Talks between Mohamed Salah and Liverpool over a new deal have reportedly broken down due to the Egyptian’s wage demands.
The ex-Chelsea and Roma man is due to become a free agent in under 18 months’ time and has been involved in long-running negotiations over a new contract at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp has remained optimistic about the club’s chances of keeping Salah, whose priority is thought to be signing a new deal at Liverpool if an agreement can be struck.

However, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that talks between the player and club have now stalled, with Salah having ‘no intention’ of accepting Liverpool’s latest offer.
Romano added that Salah is holding out for an offer which he feels reflects his value to the team, and he would be open to moving to another Premier League club if his time with the Reds comes to an end.
Salah has amassed 27 goals and 10 assists from 34 matches in all competitions this season and has previously been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona amid his uncertain contract situation.
