‘Mumu people everywhere’ — Davido hits X users over political views

‘Mumu people everywhere’ — Davido hits X users over political views

Davido, the Nigerian singer, has engaged some X users who critiqued his political views in a heated conversation.

The drama started on Thursday evening after the Afrobeats star referred to Nigerian politics as a “film trick” in a terse post.

“Nigeria politics and film trick,” he tweeted.

Film trick is simply the illusion or special effects used in the theatre or movie industries to simulate the imagined events in a story or virtual world.

The tweet, however, did not sit well with some X users — who tackled Davido for airing his opinion on politics.

Papa Wemba argued that the singer is quick to tweet whenever the All Progressive Congress(APC), a Nigerian political party, gets a favorable judgment.

Victor Abisoye advised Davido to focus on “music instead of getting involved in politics” while Prince Adeshina urged the singer to “behave maturely”.

Replying in a flurry of tweets, the singer asked if the trolls could dine with the people they defend.

He also urged them to refrain from diverting his attention while he focused on making money in Australia.

“Never said nothing about judgement. The People wey you Dey defend… you fit go chop for their house? But guess what? I can,” he replied.

“Me wey humble politics lol ask around. Mumu People everywhere… Anyways Boutta land Australia and make a million dollars… convert that. Goodnight.

“You mean the former governor? Bingo who released you from cage today? From today your new name is Bingo. stop distracting me I am counting money.”

Ademola Adeleke, an uncle of Davido and the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), won the Osun state governorship election in July 2022.
