My husband sniffs my underwear any time I went out – Wife tells court

Ilorin-based housewife, Rashidat Quadir, has filed for divorce at an Area Court at Centre-Igboro in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The petitioner said the divorce was necessary after 11 years of being childless and experiencing a lack of love from her husband.

“My husband and his parents are frustrating me because I have no children. My husband also no longer has trust in me.

“He always makes trouble with me each time I go out, and he does not have trust in me any longer. He believes I go to visit another man any time I am out of the home.

“He always forces me to swear with the name of Almighty Allah and the holy Qur’an each time I go out, saying that I have gone to have an affair with another man.

“He goes as far as inspecting my underwear to know if I had s3x outside,” she said.

Rashidat stated further said that her mother-in-law had told her on many occasions to look for another man and stop wasting her youthful age in their family.

“I packed out of the house three months ago after much threat, frustration and pain, “she told the court.

The respondent, however, said that he was still interested in their marriage, adding that he did not chase his wife out of the house.

“I went to the office and when I returned she was gone.

“The only thing I remember was that six years ago, my parents called her parents to confirm if she was the cause of childlessness.

“On the issue of suspecting her, it is because she refused to allow me to have sex with her for two weeks. That was my reason for doubting her, he said.

The respondent also said that he tried to settle the issue by going to visit his in-laws.

He added that they asked him to be patient with her and that she would return home.

The presiding judge, Shehu Ajimobi, granted the respondent time to enable him settle with his wife, advising that divorce should be a last resort.

Ajimobi also advised the husband to do everything necessary to get his wife back and appealed to her to be patient as well.

The case was adjourned to November 6.

Why I claimed Ooni is my father – Man recants, apologises (+ VIDEO)

In a dramatic turn of events, a middle-aged man whose bold claim of being the son of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, captured widespread attention in a viral video, has now delivered a public apology to the revered traditional ruler.

The apology followed significant controversy stirred by the man’s initial claim, prompting a swift response from the Ooni’s palace.

In the contentious video, the individual, clad in a traditional white Agbada, boldly asserted that Oba Ogunwusi had instructed him and his mother to keep their lineage discreet.

Oba Enitan Ogunwunsi is my father. He hid me with my mother with a clear instruction that I must not reveal myself,” the man claimed in Yoruba.

In a subsequent online video released last Friday, the man expressed sincere regret over any confusion or distress caused by his initial claims.

He explained that his actions were driven by a series of dreams involving the Ooni, which he interpreted as significant.

According to him, these dreams led him to believe he had a special connection with the monarch, prompting his public appeal.

“I have a reason for creating that video. In 2022, I found myself beside the Ooni in my dream, engaging in discussions,” he said.

Despite his unsuccessful attempts to meet the Ooni in person, he resorted to creating the video as a final attempt to grab attention.

The man, who chose not to disclose his identity in either video, earnestly appealed to the Ooni for understanding, expressing;

My esteemed father, please do not be displeased with me. I did not create the video to defame you; rather, I made it to attract your attention so that I could narrate my dream to you and hopefully meet you.”

He also urged the Nigerian public not to misuse his video to defame the Ooni, emphasizing that his intentions were solely to seek an audience with the monarch, not to spark controversy or dishonor.
