The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), operating under Operation HADIN KAI, has recorded another major operational success following a coordinated air interdiction on terrorist hideouts at AbbagaJiri in the Timbuktu Triangle area of Borno State.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the mission was executed after multi-source intelligence confirmed the presence of terrorists, their structures, and concealed logistics facilities at the location.
Based on the intelligence, NAF air assets were deployed for integrated surveillance and precision strike operations, targeting identified enemy positions.
“The operation was deliberately designed to degrade terrorist capability, deny sanctuary, and shape the battlespace for ground forces, in strict adherence to rules of engagement and the protection of non-combatants,” the statement said.
Reacting to the outcome, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, said the operation underscored the Air Force’s resolve to deliver decisive airpower in support of ground troops.

“This operation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to delivering precise and decisive airpower in support of ground forces. We will continue to deny terrorists freedom of movement, sanctuary, and logistics wherever they seek to hide,” Aneke said.
He disclosed that terrorist structures were successfully engaged and destroyed, while a follow-up strike neutralised armed elements seen converging on the area.
According to the CAS, ground troops later advanced into the location, confirming the effectiveness of the air strikes and validating the success of the joint air–land operation.
Reaffirming the NAF’s operational posture, Aneke stressed that all missions are intelligence-led and carefully planned to ensure maximum impact on hostile elements while safeguarding civilians.
“The Nigerian Air Force will sustain pressure until terrorist networks are completely dismantled,” he added.
The NAF also recalled a similar operation in December 2025, when it conducted two precision air strikes on bandit positions in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, Sector 2.
That operation targeted Turba Hill and a camp linked to a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Dogo Sule, following credible intelligence on criminal activities in the area.
