NECO set to conduct SSCE in Saudi Arabia
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has concluded plans to conduct the internal Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement by Azeez Sani, the acting director of the information and digital communication department, the announcement came on the back of the accreditation of the Nigeria International School in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
The statement said the delegation — led by Yusuf Tanko Sununu, the minister of state for education, and Ibrahim Wushishi, NECO registrar — recently visited the school for accreditation.
During the visit, Sununu urged the management and students of the school to be good representatives of Nigeria across the Gulf States Cooperation Council.

The minister also assessed the facilities such as the examination halls, classrooms, laboratories, library, security architecture, the academic curriculum and syllabus, and the general security of the school.
He added that “it was found worthy of consideration as an international centre for NECO SSCE Internal, and was consequently granted full accreditation”.
On his part, the NECO boss stressed the importance of the accreditation to the school management, adding that the approval is to ensure adequate teaching and learning facilities conducive to examinations.
The delegation also visited the Nigeria House in Jeddah where they met Bello Kazaure, the consular general, and Abdulkadir Maikudi, the school proprietor.
NECO currently has its other international examination centres in Togo, Benin Republic, Equatorial Guinea, Niger, and the Republic of Gabon.
