The Nigerian Football Federation has approved the appointment of former Super Eagles captain and coach, Augustine Eguavoen, as its technical director.
It announced the decision in a communiqué after its executive committee meeting.
It also unanimously endorsed the NFF President, Mr. Amaju Pinnick, to vie for any elective position in the forthcoming CAF and FIFA elections as deemed appropriate.
As Technical Director of NFF, Eguavoen will work with Paul Aigbogun (Deputy Director, Technical & Scouting); Terry Babatunde Eguaoje (Consultant on Coaching & Development); Abdulrafiu Yusuf (Assistant Director, Coaching & Development); Siji Lagunju (Assistant Director, Training & Development) and; Garba Lawal (Chief Technical Officer).
The appointments are with immediate effect.
Praising the NFF president for efficient leadership he had been provided for navigating the rather difficult terrain of Nigeria football administration for the past six years, the Executive Committee further congratulated the President for the exceptional representation that he indeed provided for Nigeria, WAFU B and indeed Africa in his current position as CAF Executive Committee Member, and enjoined all stakeholders to fully support him in the upcoming CAF & FIFA elections.
