Nigerian automaker, Proforce Limited, is excited as it signed a contract with Belarus for the production and supply of defence equipment, mostly armoured vehicles, to the country.
The photos of the agreement signing have surfaced on the internet.
“With the Proforce deal stamped, Belarus is set to become the first country in Europe to aquire defence products from Nigeria,” @DefenseNigeria tweeted.
Details of when the contract have however not been revealed by Proforce or the Belarusian government.
This is seen as part of the positive results of the Nigeria’s auto policy which encourages local assembly of vehicles.
A number of local and global automakers have set up assembly plants in the country churning out vehicles.
Only recently, Hyundai Kona, an electric car, assembled in Nigeria was unveiled.
