A Nigerian man, Osacpolor Jimoh, 37, has been jailed three years and nine months for flirting with a 14-year-old girl he met on the internet.
He was charged on five counts including attempting to incite an underage to engage in sexual activity.
He was said to have travelled from Scotland to Leeds to meet with the ‘internet lover’ who just turned 14
He was arrested in Leeds Rail Station after booking a two-night stay at a hotel.
The Leeds Crown Court heard that Jimoh of Clovenstone Park, Edinburgh, had added the decoy profile as a Facebook friend back in May 2022.
After striking up a conversation with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl, he claimed he was 19, and asked if she had a boyfriend.
He reportedly told her she was “beautiful” and suggested the two should have a “secret relationship”, before the conversation moved over to WhatsApp.
He was said to have asked her questions about her body and her sexual experience and later sent her nude videos of himself.
He also insisted the girl refer to him as “daddy”.
After arranging to meet with the girl, he was arrested in Leeds Rail Station, and condoms and lollipops were reportedly found on him.
When he was questioned by police, Jimoh admitted communicating with the girl, but claimed it was more like a “father-daughter” relationship.
Mark McKome sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison.
