Nigerian pastor gets knocks after gifting Davido’s Chioma N70m handbag

A United Kingdom-based pastor and Founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, Tobi Adegboyega, has gifted Davido’s fiancee, Chioma Rowland a Hermes Birkin bag.

But his gesture has earned him series of condemnations from those who believe the cost of the bag is too high and such funds could make many poor people and members of his church get out of poverty.
Davido, alongside Chioma and other members of his team had reportedly paid a visit to the pastor at his residence in London.

In a video sighted by the NPO Reports through popular Instagram blogger’s post, Tunde Ednut, @mufasatundeednut, shows Adegboyega presenting the Hermes Birkin Bag and a certificate of ownership to Chioma which is said to cost $95,000 (N70,000,000).

The 30BG star, Davido was seen expressing his appreciation and excitement towards the kind gesture in the video with him shouting, “My pastor!”

However, the video of the presentation has stirred different reactions from many social media users over the worth of gift presented by the pastor.

@kwamezack_ reacted by saying “He will never give that kind of money to any of his church member to start a business and survive on the streets.”

@joysglow commented,
“What a waste of funds…so many hungry people out there.”

@omonejohnson added,
“What has a pastor done for the poorer ones? I am just asking ooo. Is it his calling to be gifting the extra rich or helping the super poor”

“Pastor, some of your committed members need that money o, na who already get you dey gift! No wahala, @valleychangerhenry said.

“Why didn’t he share it to his poor church members…people barely feed, we have sick people who can’t afford money, we have less privileged…pastor by name but not by character. Everything is to show off on social media. What’s the use of giving her such amount of bag when she already has money in her account.”

The condemnations are coming as Davido announced in the same video that his would be getting married to Chioma next year.

The singer and Chioma had parted ways some years ago over undisclosed areas of differences.
But lately, the duo have been seen in different outings indicating that they are back together.

As celebrities, their wedding, if it holds next year, is expected to pull crowds of entertainers from across the world as well as other notables in the society.
