An unnamed Nigerian man studying in the United Kingdom has allegedly been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for manslaughter.
According to a Twitter user: @JoyChuksO, who posted the story, the suspect worked as a part time caregiver to the deceased.
She stated that the diseased died as a result of a fall caused by the suspect, who also failed to inform anyone about the incident.
Her tweet reads: “I just read a sad story of a Nigerian boy who came to study in the UK few months ago and worked part time as a home care worker been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in the UK.
“Full story: The boy was employed by a certain home care in UK for a patient who needed 2:1 care.

“This means the patient has to be carried or attended to by 2 people all the time.
“Unfortunately for the boy, his partner was unavailable at the moment & instead of waiting the boy decided to single handedly carry the patient.
“The patient fell & the boy quickly carried the patient up & back to the bed.
“He didn’t make any report about the incident.
“The next day the patient passed & they noticed bruises on the body, investigation showed the late patient had a fall that was not reported.
“The boy was charged to court & will be jailed for 10yrs for manslaughter.
“Please be careful and stay safe wherever in the abroad you find yourself.
“You can’t leave your country to seek a better life only to land in jail and maybe a deportation afterwards. Really sad!”
