Nigerian Woman, Children Die in US Road Accident

A Nigerian woman, Nihinloluwa Agoro, and her two children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, have tragically died in a road accident in the United States, specifically in Fort Bend County, Texas, while on their way to church on March 15, 2026.

The fatal crash has been confirmed by the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, who expressed deep sorrow over the incident. In a statement released through NiDCOM’s Head of Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, she described the loss as heartbreaking, especially as the victims were reportedly going about their normal daily activities.

According to the statement, the NiDCOM boss extended her condolences to the bereaved family, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and comfort for loved ones left behind. She also wished those injured in the accident a speedy recovery, while standing in solidarity with the Nigerian community in Texas and across the United States affected by the tragedy.

The incident reportedly occurred during what should have been a routine trip, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety and the risks associated with highway travel. While full details of the crash have not been publicly released, local authorities in Texas are expected to continue investigations to determine the cause of the accident and whether any contributing factors were involved.

NiDCOM also used the opportunity to call on Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, to exercise caution on the roads and adhere strictly to traffic regulations in order to reduce avoidable accidents. The commission emphasized the importance of safe driving practices, particularly during periods of regular travel such as weekend and church commutes.

The tragic deaths have sparked reactions within the Nigerian diaspora community, with many expressing grief and offering condolences to the family. Community members are also expected to rally support as arrangements are made in the aftermath of the incident.
