Nigeria’s secret police, DSS joins social media, reveals its handles

Nigeria’s secret police, the Department of State Services, DSS is now on social media.

DSS said its decision to join social media is to enhance its engagements with members of the public.

The new social media handles were announced in a statement by Peter Afunanya, the Public Relations Officer of DSS on Monday.

The social media handles are for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts newly created by the Service, according to Afunaya.

Instagram: @OfficialDSSNG

In addition, Afunaya also announced the Twitter handle of for the public relations officer of as @DrAfunanya_PNA.

“Hitherto, the Service did not own or operate these handles. Its decision to operate them with effect from 6th March, 2023 is to enhance public and stakeholder engagements.

“The public should be guided and NOTE that any such handles before now were/are FAKE, please,” Afunaya said.
