October 6, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has blamed the resurgent petrol queues in Abuja, on the unprecedented flooding of various parts of Kogi State, especially Lokoja.
The Regulatory Authority, in an advisory on the scathing queues in most filling stations in Abuja, said trucking through alternative routes was currently ongoing in an effort to correct the distorted distribution of petroleum products to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and environs.
The Authority assured that there were sufficient petroleum products inland, even as it advised the public to avoid panic buying at fuel stations.

“In the same context, Marketers are advised to desist from hoarding the product so as not to inflict hardship on Nigerians.
“The Authority wishes to reiterate its commitment to Nigerians to ensure seamless supply and distribution of Petroleum Products nationwide”, it added.
As flood took over the popular Lokoja road and left many houses and businesses submerged under water, THEWILL reports that petrol queues have returned to major filling stations in Abuja.
The inability of fuel tankers to cross from Lokoja to Abuja has disrupted the supply of products to the northern part of the country.
