Nnamdi Kanu: Ekpa-led IPOB threats fresh sit at home in South-East
Simon Ekpa, leader of a faction of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) known as auto pilots, has made a fresh demand for the release the overall leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu.
He gave the Federal Government a September 15 deadline to release Kanu or face civil disobedience.
He said another three-week civil disobedience would be inevitable if Kanu was not released by September 15.
He said the sit-at-home enforcement would at this time include a daily curfew from 6am to noon.
His ultimatum is contained in a statement titled ‘Delegitimization of Nigeria within Biafra Territory’.
He also demanded the dismantling of all roadblocks and checkpoints in the South-East by September 15, 2023.
He said if the demands are not met the people would engage in another three weeks of civil disobedience, including a curfew.
Ekpa in the statement noted that during these three weeks of curfew, all Nigerian government secretariats in Biafra territory would remain closed in all states.
