Nollywood Actress Doris Ogala Reportedly Arrested Amid Pastor Okafor Controversy
Nollywood actress Doris Ogala was reportedly arrested on Saturday, December 20, 2025, following an escalating controversy linked to her public fallout with a Lagos-based pastor, Dr Chris Okafor, an incident said to have unfolded during a live social media broadcast.
The alleged arrest occurred while Ogala was engaged in a livestream conversation with a social media personality. During the exchange, the interviewer asked, “The police are in your house?” to which the actress responded, “Yes, the police are in my house.” Moments later, Ogala was heard reprimanding an individual identified as Charity for allowing people into her residence against earlier instructions.
The interviewer further queried whether the officers had presented a search or arrest warrant and advised the actress to keep her phone active and connected as events unfolded.
Reacting to the development, comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate Dee One announced the alleged arrest via his Instagram page, stating: “Doris Ogala has just been arrested. I tried to warn her; the allegations did not add up. Now she will have to defend her story in court.”
Efforts to reach Doris Ogala for comments proved unsuccessful, as calls to her phone did not connect and messages sent to her WhatsApp account were yet to be acknowledged as of press time. Attempts to contact Dee One for clarification also failed.

However, a response received from a phone number linked to the pastor’s church and saved on WhatsApp as “Dr Chris Okafor” dismissed the reports, stating: “Kindly debunk any rumour you are seeing on the internet; it is a false allegation.”
The controversy followed a now-deleted social media post shared by Ogala on Friday, in which she allegedly posted an image of a man identified as Okafor in what appeared to be a private setting. In the accompanying caption, the actress accused the cleric of dishonesty and claimed to possess video evidence to support her allegations.
The incident came shortly after Dr Chris Okafor’s wedding to a woman identified as Pearl, which reportedly took place earlier in the week. The cleric was said to have gone ahead with the ceremony despite Ogala’s viral accusations of betrayal, emotional manipulation and broken promises of marriage.
In a series of emotional videos circulated online, Ogala alleged that she had been in a relationship with Okafor since 2017, claiming she ended her previous marriage at his insistence and suffered severe emotional distress when the relationship abruptly ended.
As of the time of filing this report, police authorities have not issued an official statement, while the circumstances surrounding the alleged arrest remain unclear.
