Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani
North-West, South-West biggest beneficiaries under Buhari, Tinubu – Shehu Sani
Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has stated that both the immediate past and present administrations have disproportionately favoured the North-West and South-West regions in terms of political appointments and infrastructural projects.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Sani criticised those claiming that the ‘North’ is being marginalised under President Bola Tinubu’s government, accusing them of distorting facts.

His words: “Under the immediate past and present administration, the North West and the South West regions are the highest beneficiaries of political appointments and projects.
“Those who are saying the ‘North’ is disfavoured against the ‘South’ are deliberately distorting this reality. The match is not yet half time, wait for more goals or penalties!”
His remarks come amid growing debate over regional equity in President Tinubu’s appointments and federal spending, with some northern voices accusing the government of favouring the South.
Sani’s intervention suggests that much of the northern establishment — particularly in the North-West — has been well accommodated under both the Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu administrations.
