NUC executive secretary Abubakar Rasheed resigns
Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, has announced his resignation from the office.
He disclosed this on Monday in Abuja, after granting an operational licence for the establishment of a third Kogi State-owned university.
The resignation, he said, would take effect from July 1.
He said he would be returning to lecturing at Bayero University Kano where he was as vice chancellor before he was appointed as NUC head seven years ago.
He however did not give details of why he took the decision.
Abubakar still has three more years to complete his second tenure.
