A leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos Sulaiman Lawal has been killed in Lagos.
Lawal, popularly called Arikuyeri, was killed during a face-off between two rival gangs who are members of the union at the Mile 12 branch.
Recall that members of the NURTW have come under the Lagos State Park Management Committee, under the chairmanship of Musliu Akinsanya, popularly called MC Oluomo.
Arikuyeri is the chairman of the Mile 12 branch of the committee.
Videos of the incident showed loyalists of the slain motor park leader moving from one area to another in the Owode Elede, Mike 12, Ketu Owode Onirin parts of the community.

They were seen attacking many residents, forcing many traders to close shops while many people shut their doors to avert stray bullets.
Gunshots were heard for many hours as the supporters marauded the area, shouting that there must be consequences for the killing of their man.
He was seen being cut with cutlasses and other dangerous weapons by gang members.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who is the spokesman for the Lagos Police Command, while confirming the killing, said the police had arrived and taken control of the situation.
The control was however not until after one person had been killed.
