Obi denies receiving donations of private jets for campaign

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, says no eminent Nigerians donated their private jets for his campaign as being speculated.

The Rumour came weekend that Obi, former Anambra governor,  got donations of private jets from some big fans to facilitate his campaign across the country. The claim went viral on social media platforms, and elicited mixed reactions.

His critics latched onto the rumour to call him out, saying this contradicted his ideology.

But in a post on his Twitter page on Sunday, Obi said he had not received any such offer as being claimed.

He however said he appreciated “such expression of hopes”.

Obi stated, “Recently, several social media reports have alluded that some eminent Nigerians have donated their personal jets for my use during my campaign. In as much as I appreciate the expression of such hopes, I have never received any of such offer.”
