Supporters of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, on Tuesday trooped out during a rally in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
The supporters were made up mainly of young people.
In videos uploaded on Twitter, the supporters were seen chanting Obi’s name.
Obi also met with university students at the E&R Event Centre in Uyo, where he said if elected in 2023 he would create an enabling environment for them to thrive, noting that some of the biggest global tech companies such as Facebook and Google were created by students.
The former Anambra governor told the students that his government then created a thriving environment for Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing among others.
He also promised loans and grants for small and medium-scale businesses formed by students as Nigeria’s President next year.
This, Obi added, would be a priority for his government.
On the dichotomy between polytechnic and university education, Obi said technology is the future, stressing that polytechnics would be at the core of producing technical graduates to drive the advancement of the country.
