The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Government on Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya, has restated the state government’s resolve to ensure a cleaner and conducive environment for the people of the state.
Oresanya, who dropped this hint in a radio programme monitored by this reporter, said that the state government would stop at nothing in making sure that the Dapo Abiodun-led administration was poised at making the environment one the focal points of his government.
The Special Adviser who also doubles as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) pointed out that the introduction of Private Sector Participants Operators (PSP) in the state was a step towards ensuring that the issue of the environment is brought to the front burner.
According to him, the template used in addressing the issue of refuse collection and disposal in Lagos State when he was the MD/CEO of the Lagos State Wastes Management Authority (LAWMA) would be replicated in Ogun State.
He was quick to add that the other semi circle of making Lagos a clean city could not be completed without Ogun completing it.
Oresanya said that the issue of bad roads in some parts of the state like Mowe, Agbara would not deter the state government from tackling the issue of collection and disposal of refuse in the state.
He noted, that in the no distant future, the state would witness a remarkable paradigm shift in addressing environmental issues in the state.
