Ojuelegba Bridge Gridlock as Container Truck Overturns in Surulere, Lagos
A major traffic gridlock has crippled parts of Surulere, Lagos, following the overturning of a fully laden container truck on the Ojuelegba Bridge, inward the Lagos Island, opposite Abati Barracks.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning, led to a near-total blockage of the bridge, with about 90 per cent of the roadway obstructed, triggering severe congestion that stretched as far as the Maryland axis.
Officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), alongside other emergency response teams, were promptly deployed to the scene to manage traffic and clear the obstruction. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes to avoid the affected corridor.
