Olympics 2024: Favour Ofili makes historic 200m final

Nigeria’s Favour Ofili has secured a spot in the final of the women’s 200m event at the ongoing Paris Olympic Games.

Ofili finished in 22.05s behind newly crowned 100 metres Olympic champion, Julien Alfred, who ran 21.98s. USA’s McKenzie Long finished third in 22.30s in the Monday race

Ofili becomes the first Nigerian since the exit of Mary Onyali to qualify for the 200m final at the Olympics.

Onyali remains the only Nigerian to have made it to the podium in the event.
