The Ondo State Police Command on Monday said it had arrested a tricycle operator, Festus Akintelure, for allegedly beating his colleague, Titus Adebayo, to death over a misunderstanding in Oke-Aro community, Akure, the Ondo State capital.
According to a source, the duo engaged in a hot argument on Saturday and it led to a fight.
The suspect was said to have severely punched Adebayo during the fight and the 35-year-old collapsed and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Adebayo, while receiving treatment, on Sunday, succumbed to the injuries he sustained during the attack.
The source said, “The deceased fell down after he was punched during the fight and he was quickly rushed to the hospital on Saturday but he died on Sunday morning in the hospital.”
Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the 39-year-old suspect would be charged to court after investigation.
Odunlami said, “The victim collapsed during the fight on Saturday and was confirmed dead early Sunday morning at the hospital. We have arrested the suspect and investigation has commenced after which the suspect will be charged to court.” Punch
