One lifeless body was on Tuesday afternoon pulled out of an uncompleted three-storey shopping mall that collapsed in Kano.
The collapsed building is located in the Beirut Road area inside the GSM market of the Kano metropolis.
The building reportedly collapsed around 3pm.
Many traders were still trapped in the rubble and rescue efforts were ongoing as of 7pm.
Some of the persons trapped under the collapsed building were said to be shop owners.
The cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained.
Nura Abdullahi, the coordinator of the Kano territorial district, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), confirmed the building collapse.
The development is coming less than a week after two persons were killed in a two-storey building that collapsed in the Kubwa satellite town of Abuja.
