Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has declared that the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, can decide when he will return to the country.
He, however said the former Lagos State governor is hale and hearty, dispelling the rumour that he was hospitalised.
There were reports that Asiwaju Tinubu was hospitalised and undergoing major surgery in Maryland, United States.
But Sanwo-Olu who visited the APC national leader in London, the United Kingdom, to see things for himself, said in the Lagos House, Ikeja, a few hours after his return from London that he discussed happenings in the APC, national issues and other matters with the national leader during his visit.
When asked when Tinubu would likely return to Nigeria, Sanwo-Olu responded that only the APC leader can decide when he will return from his foreign trip.
“A man has the discretion to decide when to go out of the country and when to return. It is his call,” he said
He also said the picture he took with Asiwaju Tinubu during his visit to London was to dispel the rumour that he was hospitalised.
“You saw him in the picture, pictures don’t lie. He is well, hearty and we conversed; we talked about what is happening in our party and happenings in the nation.
“I went to see things for myself. It is just to put the mind and heart of people to rest that there is nothing for us to worry about,” the governor said.
