Osimhen receives grand welcome from Galatasaray fans

Thousands of Galatasaray fans gathered at Istanbul Airport in Turkey to enthusiastically welcome Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen on Monday.

Despite arriving around 3:30 a.m., Osimhen was greeted with applause and chants.

He seemed overjoyed as supporters cheered and yelled his name, creating an unforgettable moment.

The positive greeting signalled the start of Osimhen’s loan move from Napoli to Galatasaray, which was completed after the European transfer market closed.

The Turkish club will cover his €10 million salary, allegedly paying €8.8 million with a January release clause for top clubs.

Osimhen’s arrival was widely anticipated, with supporters waiting all night for a glimpse of him.

The 25-year-old Nigerian striker will face medical tests on Tuesday morning before joining Galatasaray’s Europa League team.

After his unsuccessful move to Chelsea, the 25-year-old still has a chance of leaving Napoli before the Turkish transfer window ends on September 13.

Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s director of sport, also told Sports Digitale in Turkey, “It is correct to say we are in talks with Galatasaray and are close to reaching an agreement.”

According to Pooja Media, both teams also agreed that the player’s €130 million release clause might be activated by potential suitors in January 2025.

Osimhen was clearly excited about joining Galatasaray after being faced with the prospect of sitting in the stands until the transfer market opened in January.
